Evening Satellite Meeting Kickoff

Rotary Club of Lincoln had its kickoff event to initiate having alternate evening club meetings. Our objective is to offer the opportunity for service to our community members who can not attend the normal Thursday noon meetings.

The reception to this idea was awesome. We had 18 potential Rotarians show up to find out what Rotary was all about in Lincoln. Clark Osterhout provided an outstanding presentation on Rotary outlining what we do locally and world-wide. Dan Johnson described additional service ideas. All attendees introduced themselves and expressed their interest in service. Club President Art Deardorff stressed that the ultimate meeting time, location and operations of the evening meeting would be determined by the group.

The plan presented was that we would get together with interested attendees, their friends and others three more times this year, with the next meeting on October 14 at a location to be determined. Tell your friends to put this date on their calendars.

More to follow on this new idea from the Rotary Club of Lincoln Membership Committee.  Stay tuned.
