Rotary Work Days
At the Salt Mine

Rotary Work Day is a day when all Rotary Clubs do a project.  It is normally the last Saturday of April.  Since our District Rotary Conference was on that weekend , we elected to have our Work Day on May 9th. And we chose to assist the Salt Mine with food sorting of food donated by Placer Food Bank and others so that it could be distributed to those in need. We expect to continue our association with the Salt Mine in other similar projects.

We continued to with a second Work Day on August 28th.  We expect to continue our association with the Salt Mine in other similar projects.

For those unaware, the Salt Mine at 590 Lincoln Blvd. is a California nonprofit public benefit charity, with a purpose and mission of enhancing and improving the lives of the young people and their families in Lincoln and surrounding communities. The Salt Mine offers children’s programs, youth programs, and adult training and teaching, as well as an aggressive feeding program that provides emergency food, clothing and household items for needy families in our area.  In addition to accepting food, they accept other donations for sale and distribution at their two area thrift stores.  www.SaltMine.Org
