Kris began his discussion by saying that "People of Lincoln care about the People in Lincoln". He gave examples of how the service clubs, the schools and individuals serve the community.
Kris continued by sharing the timeline of the Lion's Club, that lead to what is now an annual Christmas program that serves 600+ families, providing toys in partnership with the Marine's Toys4Tots program, and partnership with Salt Mine that provides food to the families receiving a "Christmas Basket". The Lion's Club continues to participate with the Police program PALS for Christmas shopping for gifts for the children to buy for their families. It seems that these children often refuse to buy anything for themselves.
Kris is also the President of the Public Safety Foundation. Wearing that hat he found that there was a need in Lincoln for a "Narc" device that police and others use to identify fentinol. On hearing about this need a Lincoln resident contacted Kris and volunteered to provide the $35,000 needed to by the "Narc" device. Again demonstrating how Lincolk people support Lincoln.
The Community Foundation is also a position that Kris leads as president. After Covid the Community Foundation wanted to support 501C3's that suffered for funding during Covid. The Foundation donated $300,000 each to the Salt Mine and Lighthouse to help those organizations to recover and continue with their service to people in Lincoln. The Foundation also sponsors a Bingo night the 2nd Wednesday of each month. This Bingo Night is available to non-profits for fundraising by working the event, and in return, that non-profit retains that night's profit.
