Announcements

The photo reflects the club check-in team for this meeting. Jan, Frima and Julie.

Bryan began the committee reports by reporting that the Tour de Lincoln was the smoothest event that he has Chaired thus far. There were no negative comments from riders or volunteers. He mentioned that sponsors such as PG&E, Sierra Pacific, Fowler Ranch, and several others (sorry I can't name them all) provided generous support and he expects the profit to be substantial. Tour de Lincoln is scheduled for October 19th, 2024. Never too soon to mark one's calendar.

Lincoln Rotary always schedules some volunteers to be there to help unload the turkeys at the Salt Mine.
There will be a sign up sheet at the next meeting (November 2).

Speaker Officer Bryce Rogers 10-26-23

Officer Rogers and community Officer Megan Rehard gave a very enlightening and helpful discussion on Scams, Social Media Security and Technology Crimes. Officer Rogers asked the question: how many people have had telephone attempts, or email attempts that they recognized as attempted scams or fraud? A surprising number of those present had indeed been party to attempted scams either on their computer or cell phones. We all know to be suspicious of grand kids in trouble in Cabo San Lucas, but some members also had to stop and call credit cards to verify the attempted fraud (as they should).
