Here's the recap from yesterday's meeting!

  • Lincoln Rotary is sponsoring a Christmas tree downtown and we will be decorating it sometime in next couple of weeks. Kristine will send out an email asking for help on the day, someone to check on it daily and water and a few people to help take it down.

  • Reminder to everyone to have our Virtual Fundraiser, Rotary Open Doors on your calendar for February 26th.  We need gifts for the silent auction, so please find that antique or fun gift that you want to donate and get it off your hands.

  • We will be DARK for both December 24th AND December 31st.  Last meeting of the year is December 17th.

  • Bryan led a minute of silence to commemorate Tony/Styx's passing.  Barbara suggested that we remember Tony in February and perhaps acknowledge Tony Jr and his wife, Carrie by giving one or both a Paul Harris Fellow.  This will to be discussed at the next Board meeting.

  • Doug Devine was our speaker.  He is a former Air Force pilot, entrepreneur and exercise expert.  His three main areas discussed were:
  • Motion-- including facial muscles, say the vowels by exaggerating them
  • Movement-- Walking is very important, use good posture
  • Balance--  Use the Handrails, don't fall. Stand on one leg when you can and if you do fall, relax, tuck in a ball and roll.  Use 1/4 tsp of Turmeric to keep memory sharp.
Doug trains veterans, does yoga and gave an interesting and different approach to fitness for the older population.

Hope to see you next Thursday!  If you haven't joined us in awhile, please plan on coming. We miss you!
