Art Deardorff gave personal recognition of 500 pts toward Paul Harris to Lindsey and Alicia for their months of WineFest hard work, and also to Kerry for the amazingly successful "One Day 100 projects" that Art said he originally thought the project was wishful thinking.
Kerry started the Events discussions with a report on the District Conference saying that it was a very productive, informative and fun event that members should try to attend. The club was recognized with an "Adapt Award Certificate." She and her son personally participated in the 46-degree Polar Plunge into Lake Tahoe for PolioPlus, Kerry said the Dueling Pianos were fantastic, the Congo Line was popular. She also mentioned that 2026-2027 District Conference is moving to the Fall since May is such a busy time of the year. Lindsey mentioned that the Tour de Lincoln would be online as of today 5/7, and that regular meetings will be held very 2 weeks to prepare for this Fundraiser. Karen J. announced the World Service Committee will meet May 28th.
Guest Speaker Joann Hilton, provided the club with a report on the Feb. 11-15 Chapala Friendship Conference attended by 9 Lincoln Rotary representatives. Joann, Ria Worden, Judy Ratley and Carol Abbanat shared a bit of their experience and encouraged members to attend any future Conferences. Then a Video of the 5-day Conference showed the key Rotary supported projects that provided the local residents with clean water, sanitation, schooling and meals for the children. The next Rotary project is to provide a medical clinic, that is very much needed, using a Global Grant. This Club has been supporting projects in Chapala since 2010.
