On Thursday, July 28, our guest speakers were April Rennie and Regina Hinnenkamp (with a few cameos from our very own Kris Wyatt)!
These amazing Western Placer Unified teachers shared about Project Cornerstone, which helps create an environment in schools where all adults support youth so they grow up to be healthy, caring, and responsible adults. Their programs are structured around the 40 Developmental Assets established by researchers at the Search Institute in Minneapolis, MN. Developmental Assets outline the positive experiences, relationships, skills, and values that children and teens need to grow into thriving adults.
They are always looking for volunteers, and it's not a huge commitment. You just need to commit to:
1-2 hours a month
Attend a monthly meeting
Prepare materials for the activity
Conduct a monthly class lesson

ALSO--I was thinking of putting together a "Rotary Night Out" at Leatherby's if there's interest. Interested? Shoot me an email and let me know!
