Upcoming Speaker
 Mark Darnall.jpg
William Jessup Basketball Coach, Mark Darnall, is the upcoming speaker for the May 1st meeting.  Mark joined the Warriors after an extensive career as an assistant coach at the NCAA Division 1 & 2 ranks. We are looking forward to hearing his story.
 Meeting Welcome

Past President Richard opened the meeting with the thought for the day as shown. The Flag salute was led by Kimberly, the 4-Way Test was led by Truman. Richard welcomed to the meeting 30 members of the club, and 4 guests:  Guest Speaker Serena Olson, Susan Cadwallader (guest of Scott Cadwallader), Penny Pearl (Richard), and Juan Marquez (Keela).

Induction and Welcome of New Member
Membership Chair Bryan Ludwig welcomed, and inducted into membership, Scott Cadwallader. Scott was a member of the Rotary Club of El Camino Real, in Oceanside, CA. before moving to Lincoln. Bryan reviewed some expectations of Rotary, such as the Four-Way Test, and reminded Scott that he is welcomed into a Worldwide Organization of 1.2 million members. Members of all Rotary Clubs are welcome at any Rotary meeting, anywhere in the World. Scott shared a short history of his previous Rotary experience. The club members welcomed Scott with a standing ovation.
Events and Committee Announcements
Richard announced that Keela and Lindsey were nominated, by the nominating committee, for the positions of President-Elect and President-Elect Nominee for the years 2026-27 and 2027-28. The club then voted unanimously to accept their nominations and thanked them for accepting the future positions of Leadership. Kerry Callahan is the incoming President for 2025-26. Joann announced that 720 tickets have been sold for the Winefest. Lindsey said The Taste of Mexico needs members to sell tickets and reminded members that they are invited for complimentary drinks at 5:00 PM, as a thank you for the ticket sales. Carol will take any Raffle donation/baskets at the meeting 5/1. Truman and Wild Bill promoted the Clay Day on5/3.
Guest Speaker

Serena Olson gave an interesting discussion about her career as a Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor, sharing her work with children especially at the Horizon Charter School. People can develop addictions to sugar and food in general that cause serious problems with their health and wellness. She stressed that people can be helped by education and advice. Bill Alston has provided more information in his meeting photos.
The Four-Way Test
           The Four-Way Test
Of the things we think, say or do:
   1. Is it the truth?
   2. Is it fair to all concerned?
   3. Will it build goodwill and
         better friendships?
   4. Will it be beneficial
        to all concerned?

   5. HAVE FUN !!
