Upcoming Guest Speaker

Mark Rubick is a native of California and local to the greater Sacramento area.  Raised in a family with a father who was a welder/fabricator/ and mechanic, he has always enjoyed “fixing” things.  With a passion for motorized recreation (i.e. quads, motorcycles, jeeps, cars) he has enjoyed operating/riding most anything including bikes and e-bikes.

 Meeting Welcome

President Greg opened the meeting with 33 members and 4 guests present. The flag salute was led by Bryan Ludwig and the Four Way Test by President Greg. Guests present were almost member James Wendell (Joann Hilton), AG Kathy Clemens & David Clemens, Josh Armstrong, and Penny Pearl.

Events and Committee Announcements
 Kris sent around clipboard for volunteer help at the National Night Out (8/6) and as Bartenders at the LHS Football Bar (8/9).  Jan sent around a clipboard for volunteer speaker coordinators still needed for September, and January. She also said that if a member (not signed up for a particular month) has a speaker to submit, check with Jan, or Shanti for a possible date.  Greg encouraged members to support the Lions Club Bingo August 14, which is almost sold out, winsga nd wheels pictureRichard discussed Wings and Wheels saying that there will be 80+ airplanes, 200+cars, Hot Air Balloons, and 10 - 20,000 attendees. Volunteers are needed and admission is free for those who sign up.  Bryan covered the Tour de Lincoln saying that so far there are 25 riders signed up but that is not a concern because the majority for the riders sign up the last two weeks before the event. He said E Bikes are welcome. Sign up Genius will be active soon. The World Community Service committee chair position is still open and in need of a volunteer. Paul reported that the WCS budget will be pretty much the same as 2023-2024. Suggestions for International projects are welcome. Bryan reported that James Wedell has submitted his application and will be inducted soon. Kim: explained The Annual Auburn Ravine clean-up process. If there are questions, contact Kim or Linda Scott. Jerry Johnson has agreed to provide Marketing for Fundraising .
Guest Speaker
Guest Speaker: Josh Armstrong. Introduced by Jan Hutchinson, Josh is the Outreach and Activations Manager for the Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce. Josh grew up in a family devoted to service. He lived in San Francisco to get into music. He had a personal business that was successful. He has a passion for innovation and community engagement. His skills in logistics, marketing strategy and creative design has made him a sought-after expert in his field. He moved to Lincoln with his family to join the Chamber of Commerce at the height of Covid. Josh shared the many events that he has worked with and helped to make more successful, such as the 4th of July Parade, the Wings and Wheels, the Christmas Tree lighting and the Christmas Parade. Josh and the Chamber are committed to being an advocate for Placer County businesses, finding ways to help them grow and thrive.
