Art was ill, so Harvey ran the meeting. Excellent Thought for the Day. Started out the meeting with Melanie leading us in Four Way Test.
Harvey read out names of Rotarians who supported Tour de Lincoln, noting that both the Sunset and Lunch meeting attendees were well represented and it was a success. Mary Ann Barker made note that she and Claire had also participated, wearing red shirts and working the Registration Desk.
The same day saw many Rotarians active at the Relay for Life as well and on early Sunday morning breakfast was served to the weary Relay team members by a team lead by Dan and Sharon Johnson.
Happy Bucks ended in a donation of $4 after a mock quibble between Melanie and Ed Page, finalized with smiles. The Raffle generated many groans and moans as Vic won, yet again. However, the Ace evaded him.
Kim announced that Sober Grad night can use volunteers for decorating on June 3rd , 4th and 5th and volunteers for the all through the night. She said the “little monsters” need to be kept active all night long. Anyone wanting to help, should contact Kim. (See slides for volunteer site.)
Rotary night at the River Cats to support Polio Plus will be Sunday, June 7th. Clark can be contacted for tickets after he arrives home Sunday from his Europe trip. We are getting Sooooooo close, so let’s end Polio in the next year. Buy some tickets for kids if you are not a Giants fan, if you are, then buy some tickets yourself !! (See flyer in slides)
Lincoln High School Baseball team plays for the Section Championship on Monday, Memorial Day, at noon at Sac City College. Go Zebras !!
Harvey announced a special joint meeting of Sunset and Lunch attendees most likely a picnic on June 18th. Details to follow. And a reminder of Art’s Kickout at Turkey Creek on June 25th which promises to be a very fun night.
Fourth of July preparations are starting and Dave Cesio will again command the Wheelbarrow Precision Drill Team. Don’t miss out on this, volunteer with Dave to be a part.
Nimbly stepping in after a last minute speaker cancellation, Wild Bill did us proud with his Rotary Jeopardy quiz of all attending members. Elizabeth Jansen will be fined for running out when she heard the program announced. Wild Bill had 44 questions and we learned a lot, maybe more than we wanted.
