We thoroughly enjoyed having Dr. Eric Ellis as our lunch speaker last week!
A few highlights from his talk:
Urgent cares started in 1971
There are less hospitals being built now, but more people visiting the ER, and an increase in population
56% of ER visits are "totally avoidable"
In 2016, the average cost (nationwide) of an urgent care visit was $176, compared to $2259 at an emergency room
The average wait in an urgent care is 30 minutes vs 3 hours in an ER
Colleen bought this awesome sign for our Rotary club to use when we are out in the community!
A few more meeting highlights:
Host homes needed for the Belarus delegation in December. See Larry Whitaker for more info!
Mona Bass shared about Lincoln's new "Adopt a Creek" program. She is seeking volunteers to help walk Auburn Ravine for cleanup/maintenance.
Karen Johnson is asking for help in securing sponsorships for this years events. You should have already received an email from her--see her with your questions!
