Special Guest Joe Scheimer, visited the club to promote his 14th annual PolioPlus District 5180 goal. This year he hopes that Rotarians, and friends will help him raise $75,00 from now until World Polio Day, October 24th. He
said that sadly this year there are 40 cases of polio, a disturbing increase, that highlights the fact that polio is not quite conquered. These cases are primarily in Pakistan, Afghan and Gaza and are caused mostly by lack of sanitation. He noted that 650,00 vaccines were given with the vaccination program in Gaza. Joe participates in the Tour de Lincoln and he asks for generous support from our club.
