 Meeting Welcome

President Greg opened the meeting with 34 members and 4guests present. The Flag salute was led by Kimberly McCue, and the Four Way Test was led by Dakota Spillers. Guests welcomed were Cindy Millward (guest of Andrea), Rachel Wesp(guest of Richard), Lizeth Beaux & Lesly Villeggiante(guests of Lindsey Graves). Greg then gave a brief update of the status of the Dart Strategic Planning Committee. He explained the origin of the Dart bequest and that the committee has been interviewing many different non-profits, school executives, and other community citizens to solicit feed back on what Lincoln would like to see the bequest to be used for. There seems to be much interest in providing something for the youth of Lincoln, with one possibility for consideration being a Boys' and Girls' Club or a Youth Center. Greg said that more research is in the works and that before any decisions are made, the Rotary BOD will review the suggestions of the committee, and the final approval will be made by vote of the club members.

Events and Committee Announcements
Upcoming Events included announcement of Kris Wyatt and Kelly Callahan as leaders for the 100 Anniversary Celebration of the Club Charter in 2025. Sort of a "Save the Date" notification. Joann spoke of the Culture of Peace event on September 21, at the Cal Expo. A worthy event that conflicts with Tour de Lincon the same day. Kimberly repeated the Auburn Ravine Cleanup and reminded folk to wear covered shoes (no flip flops), gloves, and rugged clothing. Start time of 9:00. Meet at Mc Bean Park. Bryan added to his past comments that the proceeds will benefit Foundation Projects. Dick shared that he was involved with a Boy Scout Leadership program that graduated 44 scouts. Claire asked members when the October Social should occur, given that the 5th week is Halloween. The consensus seemed to be Wednesday October 30th. Clark surprised Kris with sharing the publication of her extensive interview in the newspaper. (Clark can provide the source).
Guest Speaker
Known by many as “The Elder Care Navigator”, Our guest Speaker on September 5th was Helen Justice. She is a Certified Geriatric Care Manager trained to assist elders and their families with the process of aging with dignity and grace. Her knowledge and experience with senior placement insures elders obtain quality care and transitional preparation for their future.
