Ryan Ronco is Placer County’s clerk-recorder-registrar of voters. Hired in 1993 by the office as an entry-level clerk, he steadily promoted up the ranks before being appointed clerk-recorder-registrar by the Board of Supervisors in 2016. He has since been elected to the post twice by Placer County’s voters. We look forward to hearing from Ryan Ronco.
President Kerry welcomed 20 members to the meeting , as well as 8 guests. Guests included Gerard De Miguel, BJ Gootee, Tammy Morgan, Ava Graves, Dan & Rachel Wesp, Debbie Boyd, Jordan Tatosin,The flag salute was led by Dick Fowler and the Four Way Test was led by Clark Osterhout.
Kris reported that the high school speech contests went well. The district Contest is March 12th . W.Bill reported the next Community Blood Drive is March 12, and he reiterated that someone needs to take over this event. Lindsey said the volunteer list for the Winefest is available online. Volunteers receive a free ticket.
Guest Speaker, Rachel Wesp, vice chair of the Placer Justice Foundation, explained that their mission is the strengthening of community safety through justice, prevention, and healing. The foundation focuses on seniors and children and provides access to resources that the Placer County D.A. might not have available. The 3 main programs are: 1. Placer Protect: protects seniors from fraud and abuse, 2. SART: Special Assault Response Team. A coordinated survivor centered response, including law enforcement, medical care, and advocacy. 3. Children and survivors: trauma informed child interviews focused on counseling and recovery support.
