Carole also announced that Wild Bill has requested that someone replace him as organizer of the Community Blood Drive. She will bring this issue to the BOD. Linda said that about 15 servers are needed for the Tea as well as people to help with the kitchen and heavy items.
Guest Speaker-Erin Frye
Erin holds the position of Economic Development and Communications for the City of Lincoln. She was introduced by Joann Hilton who covered Erin's employment and experience history.
Erin began her discussion with what she determines is necessary in Rebranding Lincoln and how to tell the story of what Lincoln has to offer, especially with the expected massive growth of the city. The Economic Development Initiatives are: Attracting Investment, Boosting Tourism, Retaining Residents, and Encouraging Collaboration. She discussed the Areas of Focus: the Airport Business Park, The Historic Downtown, and Commercial Development. These topics initiated many questions and discussions from club members. Erin ended with how important it is to attract good businesses, the need to boost tourism, encourage regional collaboration, making Lincoln better for everyone. Her enthusiasm for the potential Lincoln offers was evident throughout her talk.
The Four-Way Test
           The Four-Way Test
Of the things we think, say or do:
   1. Is it the truth?
   2. Is it fair to all concerned?
   3. Will it build goodwill and
         better friendships?
   4. Will it be beneficial
        to all concerned?

   5. HAVE FUN !!
Rotary Avenues of Service

Avenues of Service

We channel our commitment to service at home and abroad through five Avenues of Service, which are the foundation of club activity.

  • Club Service focuses on making clubs strong. A thriving club is anchored by strong relationships and an active membership development plan. Vocational Service calls on every Rotarian to work with integrity and contribute their expertise to the problems and needs of society. Learn more in An Introduction to Vocational Service and the Code of Conduct. Community Service encourages every Rotarian to find ways to improve the quality of life for people in their communities and to serve the public interest. Learn more in Communities in Action: A Guide to Effective ProjectsInternational Service exemplifies our global reach in promoting peace and understanding. We support this service avenue by sponsoring or volunteering on international projects, seeking partners abroad, and more. Youth Service recognizes the importance of empowering youth and young professionals through leadership development programs such as InteractRotary Youth Leadership Awards, and Rotary Youth Exchange.
