Guest Speaker  Morgan Gire

Guest Speaker-Morgan Gire is the District Attorney of Placer County.

Morgan Gire was appointed District Attorney by the Board of Supervisors in April of 2020 and subsequently elected District Attorney in June of 2022.Morgan was born and raised in Loomis and was possibly influenced by reading the Thomas Hardy Books and watching Law and Order programs on TV. His goal was to study law and return to Placer County. He began his career as a prosecutor in Riverside, then in Sacramento County and ultimately now in Placer County. He said he tries to be non-political as much as possible. He said he works for all citizens. That it is his job to evaluate facts and hold people that commit a crime accountable. He is committed to transparency and will speak to any group that requests more information. He's very proud of the Citizens Academy that is offered in Fall and Spring. Working with the Capital is a difficult situation as they tend to have a one size fits all outlook regarding to breaking laws and it just doesn't work for law enforcement. He stressed that Placer County still enforces the law and local Judges still jail criminals.

The Four-Way Test
           The Four-Way Test
Of the things we think, say or do:
   1. Is it the truth?
   2. Is it fair to all concerned?
   3. Will it build goodwill and
         better friendships?
   4. Will it be beneficial
        to all concerned?

   5. HAVE FUN !!
