Claire announced that Siino's is catering the 12/4 Christmas meeting and the evening meeting on January 15th. Josh  promoted the Polar Express Parade 12/6. Scott Cadwallader discussed the convenience of donating online using Rotary Direct. Bryan reported that two more new members will be inducted at the next meeting.
Guest Speaker 11-13-25
The Guest Speaker for 11-20-25 was former RI Director, Steve Snyder. His topic "The Dump Children of Guatemala." refers to children living in and around the Guatemala City Garbage Dump, where they survive by scavenging for items to sell. Steve said the dump was "run" by gangs and that the area surrounding the dump is extremely dangerous, to the extent that his driver/guard drove him to a nearby hill that overlooks the dump so he could actually see it. While he was in Guatemala 23 people were killed in the dump on the weekend of his visit. In 2014 there was a fire at the dump from the toxins below the mess. Whole families tried to salvage items during the fire, things that they normally scavenge for selling. Many died during the searches including many children. There is a school founded in 1997 by Hawley Denning that borders the dump. The school offers the possibility to be educated for a better life, but getting to school itself is a dangerous event every day. Steve covered many other examples of horrendous situations that these people face.

The Four-Way Test
           The Four-Way Test
Of the things we think, say or do:
   1. Is it the truth?
   2. Is it fair to all concerned?
   3. Will it build goodwill and
         better friendships?
   4. Will it be beneficial
        to all concerned?
