Maria Ocuman (Interact President x 3 years), and Clara Williams (Leadership President) from Twelve Bridges High School shared their experience at Camp RYLA this past June. Their report reminded club members of why each year we strive to send students to RYLA. They covered the activities that increased their self confidence such as the Ropes Course, Swing Dancing, and Trusting Exercises.
They learned to share leadership in different ways... that listening is a form of leading. They shared how they benefited by being encouraged to participate in ways that were uncomfortable for them. They returned home inspired by their experience. Clara shared that she then applied and was selected to be counselor for the Rotary sponsored 8th grade weekend leadership program called REGL.
