Nineteen members were present and we were joined by 8 guests. Events and Committee Announcements
Clark began the announcements with a clarification regarding the donations to the club, especially for birthdays and anniversaries.  He explained that all donations are optional but that Rotarians have a tradition of donating to celebrate, their birthdays with the club, often in the amount of their years. Again, this is a choice some members enjoy. As Foundation chair, he reported that the annual club goal for RI is $8,000, currently the club donations are about $6,000 with about three more months to achieve the goal. Members were encouraged to learn about the RI Benefactor and Bequest options. (The link to RI is on the Website Home Page). Several members have made these commitments that occur by inclusion in their will. Paul reported that he has been active with World Service. Also, that Kathleen Quigley had recent surgery and that she is making a good recovery. John will be at the meeting next week.

Guest Speaker  Lisa Brownie

Guest Speaker-Lisa Brownie. Lisa has been working with horses for over 25 years. She particularly spends time rescuing horses from the "kill pen". These horses are auctioned off because they have been treated poorly, have aged out of the owners' barns, have suffered various atrocities,  and her heart tells her to give them a fighting chance in their last years. Lisa shared several heart wrenching stories of some of her rescue horses She gives them love,  and when possible, graduates them to her equine therapy program. Lisa does not solicit donations although she gratefully accepts donations via her 501-c-3. She offers camps for children and adults throughout the year as well as offering riding lessons for income for her horse rescue program. Volunteers are a great help as well. Lisa ended her program by inviting Rotary to hold a meeting at her ranch to meet her animals and see her facility.

The Four-Way Test
           The Four-Way Test
Of the things we think, say or do:
   1. Is it the truth?
   2. Is it fair to all concerned?
   3. Will it build goodwill and
         better friendships?
   4. Will it be beneficial
        to all concerned?

   5. HAVE FUN !!
