Polio - What is Being Done to Eradicate this Disease

Our speaker is from the Rotary Club of Fair Oaks in D5180, with the classification of Fighter Pilot Retired – Joe Scheimer.

He joined Rotary in 1996 and was president of the Rotary Club of Rancho Cordova in 2012-13.  He has been involved in grants for 13 years and does a yearly Raise for Rotary Fundraiser for PolioPlus.  So far he has raised more than $375,000.  He is a Major Donor lvl 2 and a member of the Paul Harris Society & the PolioPlus Society. He is currently the District PolioPlus Chair.

Joe is married to Marie, a retired public elementary school teacher.  They have two successful daughters, two beautiful granddaughters., and finally a grandson!  He enjoys fishing, reading history and autobiographies, and Corvettes.
