Community Service
  • Established Strategic Planning Committee for the Dart Properties.  A Needs Assessment was initiated to determine direction.  Meantime, the properties are either being sold or closely managed.
  • Volunteering for Food Distribution and Donation of $8,000 to Salt Mine, also made substantial donations to Lighthouse, Woman’s Club, LPAL.
  • Ran successful Lincoln Wine Fest to support Downtown Lincoln and Placer County wineries and breweries.  Sold out with over 750 attendees.
  • Sponsored and managed Tour de Lincoln with over 500 attendees.
  • Sponsored, set up, tear down and publicize Quarterly Blood Drives resulting in significant blood donations for our community.
  • Volunteered for annual Turkey Drive with our Fire fighters.
  • Purchased and donated over 50 books for Lincoln Library Children’s section as speaker gifts.
  • Re-barked areas around Community Center to help the City with labor.
  • Donation of $2000 for children’s event at Fourth of July fireworks event.
  • Planned and staffed annual Camp Clay which reached largest number of participants ever.
  • Supplied and maintained Little Libraries.
Youth Projects and Support
  • Project Cornerstone, a value-based Literacy program, is funded by Lincoln Rotary.  The plan is to implement the program in all the WPUSD Elementary schools using both Rotary and Community volunteers and the support of WPUSD staff.
  • Sponsored LHS and TBHS Football and LHS Baseball, Girls’ Softball and Little League programs with $2500 in banners and sponsorships.
  • Sponsored and oversaw Interact Club at Twelve Bridges High School with over 25 members.  Helped them send gifts to soldiers overseas.
  • Provided $7,000 in Scholarships to five High School graduates.
  • Sent 4 High School Students to Rotary Youth Leadership Awakening Camp.
  • Provided $3,500 to Phoenix HS for graduation, prom and scholarships.
International
  • Club donations of $1900 to scholarship Elementary, Middle and High School students of Lake Chapala, Mexico plus substantial donations by individual members to both student scholarships.
  • Tepehua Community Center, our partners for over 12 years, $2400 for a very successful Diabetes program.  Donation of $1000 to the Tepehua Scholarship program in honor of Moonie King.  With Chapala Sunrise, $1700 for major water and sanitation project.
  • SAFE Passage, Guatemala $1,200 for school expenses for the children who live at the dump.
  • WASH Water, sanitation District 5180 project in Zambia and Guatemala $2,000.
  • Camp Hope, Baja youth center, $1000.
  • Haiti Nutrition Program $1500.
  • Donation for Maui fire relief $1500
  • PolioPlus $2000 from Club and another $2000 from members.
Accomplishment for Rotary Club of Lincoln
  • Established and awarded the first Robert Dart Award and special pin for Lincoln Rotary.  This award acknowledges our gratitude to Robert Dart for his generous bequest to Lincoln Rotary and the Award was established to encourage the continued good works of Lincoln Rotary members.  The first recipients were Richard Pearl and Jan Hutchinson.
