Matt Brower
New City Manager

Another full house at the lunch meeting.  Carol Smith led the pledge/Sharron Smith led us through the 4-Way Test.

Jennifer Willis was inducted as a new member. Welcome Jennifer.  Art described the District Conference where the club was awarded a Governor's Citation for our outstanding activities and we won the Large Club Blood Donor Award; thank you Dan and to all who donated.

Paul made a presentation about how he recommended that the Club donate $X,000 to ShelterBox to assist them in responding to the Nepal earthquake. A motion was made that X=3, and the members unanimously agree that the club foundation should fund this out of reserves. Members were encouraged to donate individually to this cause, where about 3 Million people have been displaced from their homes.

Remember:
  • Wine Fest May 2 (it was successful with about 700 attendees!!!)
  • Blood Drive May 8 - invite a friend
  • Next meeting bring shampoo, soap, ... toiletries for the homeless.
Matt Brower introduced himself as the new City Manager for LIncoln.  Matt has been here for about 10 weeks, and his family will arrive soon after his daughter finishes school.  Upon arriving in Lincoln he helped the city council establish some long term goals. He made a great presentation about the vision ... strategic priorities for the City of Lincoln.  See the picture link below for his two handouts. Welcome Matt.
